Product of the Year

-- Plant Engineering, 4/1/2008

Rules for entering | Tips for a better entry | Entry form (PDF)

Overview

The premier honor for new products in the PLANT ENGINEERING market. Here's just a few of the benefits that could be yours:

  • Prominent publicity in PLANT ENGINEERING magazine
  • Sales leads to interested potential customers
  • Special award merchandise available
  • Use of the exclusive 'Product of the Year' logo
  • Recognition at the awards presentation during the PLANT ENGINEERING Manufacturing Summit in Chicago

Your new product could be among 150 finalists and 55 winners -- but only if you enter.

Use an official entry form (PDF) and rules sheet. Feel free to make copies of it, if appropriate, but only entries using this form will be accepted. Please read all the rules carefully! All information on the entry form must be provided. An entry fee payment of $295.00 must accompany your entry.

Application Deadline September 12, 2008.

All materials for the entry, including the entry fee payment of $295.00, must be received in PLANT ENGINEERING's editorial offices by 5 p.m. (Central time) on Sept. 12, 2008. There will be no exceptions or extensions.

Any new plant engineering-related product introduced for purchase between October 1, 2007, and September 30, 2008, is eligible.

In the November issues of PLANT ENGINEERING, we publish our Product of the Year finalists, as chosen by a panel of industry experts. A special ballot allows readers to vote for their top five
choices in the contest.

Some products reflect the current sophisticated, high-tech world, while others represent pure simplicity of design. All of our winners, however, have been honored for creating an especially useful product for the plant engineer.

Gold, Silver, and Bronze winners are announced in each of 16 categories, plus a Grand Award winner. Awards are presented at a black-tie reception during the PLANT ENGINEERING Manufacturing Summit in April.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Addendum to Product of the Year Awards Official Rules

Background: Over the past few years, PLANT ENGINEERING has received several questions regarding the newness and market introduction dates of products entered in the awards program. Therefore, in fairness to all entrants, the following rule was added in 2001.

Verification of product introductory date. Each entry must be accompanied by evidence verifying when the product was first available for purchase. Examples of such evidence might include, but are not limited to, a dated general press release announcing introduction of the product, sales and promotion materials clearly indicating time of product introduction, copies of internal correspondence indicating product introduction or sales/marketing plans, sworn statement from an officer of the company, etc. Failure to provide such evidence may result in disqualification of the entry.

Any new plant engineering-related product introduced for purchase between October 1, 2007, and September 30, 2008, is eligible. So don't delay. Submit your entry now!
